i really wasn't gonna upload this but i figured i spent enough time on it, uhh, so, yeah.

i decided it was high time for another LJ layout because to be honest, light fluffy shades of blue and a FERRIS WHEEL really aren't my things. and uhhh, ~prettyninja pretty much has the monopoly on ferris wheels anyway. :33

so this is actually a redo of a manipulation i did like... last year and it was terrible and oh god asldfkjd;gh. i kept the basic idea i had from the last one... but now with 25% more pathetic, no talent brushing and approximately a million more layers of gay. her eyes turned out so well in this one. i started out with them simply being red, but they seemed too flat like that, so i selected the eyes, duplicated them, changed the hue to this really bright demonic yellow, and then changed the layer style to linear burn. i especially love how her right [our left] eye turned out. the natural lighting gave it so much depth to begin with. and yeah.

i also really like that texture i used on the skin. the first texture i used was, uh... it was like a dry, cracked mud ground, and the colors weren't very intense and overall it's just kind of blah in comparison. i'm pretty sure this is another ground texture, but i like it about four million times more.

so, yeah, i kept the same elements from the original, but i tried to make them more.......attractive? more cohesive? idk. it's for a personal-use-only livejournal layout. i'm not sure i can bring myself to care how professional and realistic it looks.

and, yes. yes, i am aware that everyone and their mother uses this stock. thank you.

and sorry if this is the second time this showed up in your inbox. i submitted it earlier but my internet is being what professionals call "incredibly gay" and likes fucking up at random points in time, especially if doing so will make me want to throw my laptop across the room and watch it shatter against the far wall.

7.04.08 - minor edit, and THANK YOU ALL WHO FAVE. SO MUCH. i didn't expect for this to be so popular, it really wasn't my goal. i'm gonna try and continue saying thanks on everyone's page, but in case i don't get there..... let it be known that it's much appreciated.

Nice effects! And the way you made the atmosphere all dark is quite interesting! The different textures, like the somewhat damaged, but still almost unnoticeable skin, the backround with all of the different words, it looks like you did a great amount of work on this piece and did a great job of it!

Oh, and the eyes are the most amazing part, I love the shade of red and how they reflect a sort of mix of emotions within itself and yet reflecting everything around them.

I do like it. It's good (way better than I could ever do), but perhaps almost a bit too cartoon-ish in my opinion. What I mean is it seems almost painted, the colors are too vivid. Perhaps if you toned down the contrast you could get a more realistic looking one?
